5 Favorite Things about Weddings

My only sister Jenn is getting married THIS SATURDAY!  I am so excited!  So excited in fact, and so pre-occupied that it wasn't until right now, right this very moment, that I realized it is Wednesday night.  I sat down to do this blog post thinking tomorrow was Wednesday so I can do my #5Faves post.  Nope - tomorrow is Thursday. Oh well... here are my 5 Faves, Thursday Edition. Do you like this photo bomb by TR and I?  Pretty obvious, eh?  I was helping... 5 Favorites about Weddings 1. … [Read more...]

Our Vacay Every Day with Palm Breeze

We had a Honeymoon-Themed Date Night! Hobbs and I love to have a date night at least once a week one one of his days off.  Our sixth wedding anniversary is coming up, and my sister is getting married in a little over a week.  Weddings and honeymoons have been on my mind quite a bit.  Hobbs and I honeymooned in beautiful, sandy Jamaica:   So for our honeymoon-themed date night, we wanted to watch something tropical, wear something tropical, and of course, drink something tropical.  We … [Read more...]

7QT: Weddings and Walking

- 1 - #Updates Tootsie Roll has his 1 year doctor appointment today. As far as other updates, my sister's wedding is pretty much THE update!  The wedding is in just about 3 weeks (is that right?!) and the bachelorette party in 2 weeks!  SO MUCH TO DO! - 2 - Baby's First Steps Tootsie Roll is still getting this walking thing down.  I love how he has his arms out for balance.  He also keeps his mouth wide open for, I think, the same reason. I put some more videos up on my … [Read more...]

Awesomely Fun Bridal Shower Game: “Who Has the Groom”

I just hosted my sister's bridal shower a couple of weeks ago, so now I'm sharing all the games we played (I got to be in charge of games).  This is a post about my FAVORITE game of the party.  It's called "Who Has the Groom", and I found it on Pinterest: here. How to Play "Who Has the Groom" - Pass out envelopes as guests enter. - Instruct them not open until they're told. - At a moment during the shower, get everyone's attention. - Explain that the envelopes either contain the groom … [Read more...]

Bridal Shower Games: “Who Said It?” & Wedding Ring Necklace Game

My sister is getting married at the end of May and we just had her Bridal Shower (well, technically, "Wedding Shower" as she somehow convinced my mom and his mom that the groom would be coming).  I, being the Maid of Honor and lover of fun, was in charge of the games.  Here are two of the games we did (the rest to come later). Bridal Shower Game: "Who Said It?" Everyone is issued a Popsicle stick. I - or one of the bridesmaids, but in this case, I - read the questions. And then one of … [Read more...]

Cupcakes’ Christmas Wedding

For this week's Saturday Laughs, I'm going to recount for you Cupcakes' description of her "Christmas Wedding".  It's pretty much the cutest.  In her words... On The Guest List: Mommy, Grandpa, Nana, Tootsie Roll, Daddy, Grandma, Poppa, Auntie Jenn, Uncle Jeff, Uncle Bob, and Auntie Amy. Decorations: Christmas Tree.  I moved it and put it in her bed to climb on top way up high.  There's a bow on the Christmas tree and decorations. There's going to be flowers in the aisle - those … [Read more...]

Giggling, Lizards, Fohawks and other Saturday Laughs

5. Hobbs gave Cupcakes a bath the other night and I guess some of my hair was on the drain cover (one of my fave pregnancy symptoms is that my hair doesn't shed).  I went in there and heard the whole story… "Mommy, your hair was in my bath!" *** CUPCAKES: My hair! HOBBS: That's Mommy's hair. CUPCAKES: But its blonde! HOBBS: No, it's red. CUPCAKES: OH!  If it's red, then it's Mommy's. 4. Tootsie Roll is borderline giggling now!  And he wakes up cooing!  He's such a happy baby: 3. … [Read more...]

7 Best Memories of the Wedding

This is a different kind of Quick Takes in honor of my 5 Year Wedding Anniversary! These are my 7 Best Memories of the Wedding - 1 - My Bachelorette Party was awesome!  My sister had my two best friends come over to give me a ride.  We had a quick drink before they drove me to the undisclosed location which turned out to be a bowling ally.  It was so great because it was totally private - pretty much no one else was there.  Afterwards, my friends took me to a karaoke bar.  It was SUCH a … [Read more...]
