Escaping the Routine Into My Phone because Everyone Needs a Break Sometimes

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of DoubleDown Casino for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine. I've been a Stay At Home Mom for about 8 months, and I absolutely love it.  It's my dream job, and I feel called to it.  I was a working mom for a long time, out of necessity, and I was miserable. My point is that even though I love staying home with my babies, and teaching them, playing with them, reading to them, etc, I still need breaks from time to time. A lot of SAHMs complain … [Read more...]

7QT: Weddings and Walking

- 1 - #Updates Tootsie Roll has his 1 year doctor appointment today. As far as other updates, my sister's wedding is pretty much THE update!  The wedding is in just about 3 weeks (is that right?!) and the bachelorette party in 2 weeks!  SO MUCH TO DO! - 2 - Baby's First Steps Tootsie Roll is still getting this walking thing down.  I love how he has his arms out for balance.  He also keeps his mouth wide open for, I think, the same reason. I put some more videos up on my … [Read more...]

My 5 Favorite Handheld Games #5Faves

5 Fave Handheld Games 1. Water Skill Game (Animal theme) I was at my friend, Kate's yesterday having a play date when I picked up a toy that TR had just put down.  It was a handheld game just like #1 on my list, but it was pink (Kate has little girls).  I started playing it immediately and after a couple of seconds knew I had to get my hands on one.  It's like a video game for babies, haha.  You just press on the buttons which causes the water to push the rings up and hopefully onto the … [Read more...]

Awesomely Fun Bridal Shower Game: “Who Has the Groom”

I just hosted my sister's bridal shower a couple of weeks ago, so now I'm sharing all the games we played (I got to be in charge of games).  This is a post about my FAVORITE game of the party.  It's called "Who Has the Groom", and I found it on Pinterest: here. How to Play "Who Has the Groom" - Pass out envelopes as guests enter. - Instruct them not open until they're told. - At a moment during the shower, get everyone's attention. - Explain that the envelopes either contain the groom … [Read more...]

Bridal Shower Games: “Who Said It?” & Wedding Ring Necklace Game

My sister is getting married at the end of May and we just had her Bridal Shower (well, technically, "Wedding Shower" as she somehow convinced my mom and his mom that the groom would be coming).  I, being the Maid of Honor and lover of fun, was in charge of the games.  Here are two of the games we did (the rest to come later). Bridal Shower Game: "Who Said It?" Everyone is issued a Popsicle stick. I - or one of the bridesmaids, but in this case, I - read the questions. And then one of … [Read more...]

My (and Cupcakes’) 5 Fave Shopkins #5Faves

Alright technically, these are my nine favorite Shopkins, but I'll tell you my *absolute* faves of these nine.  Have you heard of these things?  They're similar to the Crazy Bones of my day, but cuter!  And colorful!  They're apparently all the rage.  Cupcakes' friend told us about them, and now we try to find them at Target and they're always sold out.  My brother gets them for her on eBay.  It's possible he's more into them than she or I!  Are you / your children a collector / … [Read more...]

5 Fave Leap Pad Learning Games for my Preschooler #5Faves

Cupcakes loves the LeapPad2 Explorer that her Grandma got her last year.  iPads are too expensive for even Mommy or Daddy to have, but I really think this is better for her age.  She loves the games, and whether she knows it or not, they're helping her learn.  She doesn't get to play it often, but when she does, I am completely impressed with how well she does.  I especially like the Leap Pad for when we got on long car trips or we're traveling, or I just need a break.  These first four are her … [Read more...]

7QT: Colds, Missing Post, Yummy & More

- 1 - #Updates All my kids are sick!  Tootsie Roll is starting to get over his cold, *starting* to sleep in his own bed again, but it is slow-going.  And now poor little Cupcakes has it.  Fortunately Hylands has come out with a new natural remedy for colds that children under 6 years can take! What's new with you? - 2 - Blog Stuff One of my posts is missing!  My Filofax Week 7 post is just gone... I have no idea what happened to it.  So sad.  I'll just paste the picture here I … [Read more...]

7QT: Baby-Proofing, my Blog, Minecraft & Budgeting

- 1 - #Updates Tootsie Roll's top tooth has popped through.  He is such an INCREDIBLY happy baby!  It's absolutely amazing and adorable.  I am so in love.  With both my kids.  I love watching them play and laugh together. TR has taken to chasing Cupcakes around and laughing when she changes directions.  We're teaching him a new trick - how to do high fives.  We're having a blast.  On Netflix, Hobbs and I are watching the most recent season of Bones, and I'm still working through Gilmore … [Read more...]
