Product Review: Dawn Dishwand

This product has changed my life: Dish Washing Wand Dawn Dishwashing Wand I bought one kind of on a whim on our last trip to Target.  I have been without a dishwasher for almost a year.  When we moved in, we thought all the appliances were working, but it actually doesn't.  So, a few months ago, my Dad brought my parents' old dishwasher over to replace it.  However, there's a broken bracket or something so it's still in the garage. So I've been hand-washing dishes.  It's pretty … [Read more...]

More Cleaning, More Organizing: Get into a Routine

I'm still trying to consistently maintain our new house, and keep an organizational / cleaning schedule or routine.  A few of my friends in CathSo (Stacy, Sarah, and Allicia) decided to hold each other accountable and try the Fly Lady "Baby Steps" Challenge.  I love this website!  Have you heard of FlyLady?  I had heard of her before, but the only trick I implemented was to set a timer for 10 minutes and go around cleaning anything I could.  I think I did it twice, haha.  Now that I have a … [Read more...]

Slacker, but Not Really…

You guys. I know I didn't do Saturday Laughs or a Sunday post.  I did SO much work this weekend!  On both Saturday and Sunday, Cupcakes and I went over to my parents house and we just powered through looking in all of our boxes.  The garage and basement are filled with my borderline-hoarder-parents' things.  OR their parents' things.  OR our things that they've saved for us.  OR nonsense we - as kids - thought had to be saved.  I can't even list all of the garbage we've found in these boxes, … [Read more...]

DIY: Foaming Hand Soap

A few months ago, I found a pin to make your own foaming hand soap.  Since it saves a ton of soap and I love foaming soap, AND it was super easy, I made some. If I remember the pin correctly, all you do is fill a bottle a quarter of the way with hand soap and the rest of the way with very hot water, and shake.  Couldn't get any easier.  How much is generic brand hand soap?  Like $1.29 or something?  Now you can make it go 4 x as far!  That's practically nothing.  :) However, since I wanted … [Read more...]
