We have been SOOO cooped up here in Chicago!! Getting my kid to stay active has been a struggle since most days we can’t even go outside. We’re using what we have available to us, though! To combat cabin fever, we’ve been scheduling play dates, going to the library, walking around malls, and playing at McDonald’s play places. Our best gross motor activity to do while we’re at home is Freeze Dance / having Dance Parties. I just posted a list of 101 Free (or cheap) Winter Activities for Kids, and some of those include other gross motor ideas.
Cupcakes is 4 years old, and staying active is so important. It’s also very difficult to get protein in her diet because getting her to eat meat is quite a struggle. I need a quick, easy, convenient snack that’s packed with protein and other nutrients. We give her lots of fruit, and now I’ve found something additional we can grab for her quickly and give her a delicious protein burst.
Have you heard of the new Honey Maid Go Bites? These amazing little morsels containing a sweet little burst of chocolate or vanilla also provide 15% of the daily recommended amount protein and whole grains! They are crispy graham pockets with yummy fillings, and they don’t contain any high fructose corn syrup or artificial colors / flavors.
I snapped a picture of Cupcakes trying her first ever Honey Maid Go Bite…
She clearly loves them. Haha. I love both flavors, but think I prefer chocolate. I polled my family as well. Cupcakes likes vanilla the best and Hobbs also prefers vanilla. Yum!
Did you know that recent studies show that only 1% of children get the recommended amount of whole grains?? These Honey Maid Go Bites are a wholesome snack that families can agree on for any occasion. I try to limit my kids’ sugar intake, but having a sweet tooth myself, I don’t want to keep all sweets from them. This seems like a great way to give Cupcakes something sweet AND healthy in the easiest way possible!
You can find Honey Maid Go Bites in mass retailers nationwide for $4.19 a box. These boxes, by the way, are big and contain a lot of bites – about 7 servings of 26 pieces each – lots of bang for your buck!
If you try them, please comment and let me know how you like them and which flavor you / your kids prefer!
