My inlaws have been in town this week and they wanted to do ALL THE THINGS! So we had an activity-packed visit!! I’ll tell you all about it in these quick takes. 🙂

Dessert of the Week
Ice Cream & Pie!
They took us out to our “Free Pie Wednesday” restaurant which was delicious but kind of a disastrous outing… Cupcakes fell backwards off her chair and seriously bruised / scraped her leg (didn’t hit her head, thank God!) right as I was trying to calm down Tootsie Roll. I scooped up Cupcakes while Hobbs helped TR. It took her forever to calm herself. We were not the favorite patrons that night, but the manager came out and gave her some ice cream to go with her pie. She was very kind. <3 There was also a crazy down pouring storm while we were there and Grandpa had to go get the van so the rest of us didn’t have to walk to it and get soaked. We all did anyway.
Pictured is the ice cream and pie they brought her and the ice pack on her leg. Poor thing.
Here’s Nana and TR at another restaurant we went to this week:

They came to meet their first grandson and to see him get baptized:
[There is a picture of them with the newest Catholic but I haven’t gotten it from the impromptu photographer yet.]

A Children’s Museum!
I love the children’s museum and so does Cupcakes, obviously. She’s only been once and that was a year ago so she didn’t remember.
Cupcakes, myself, a magnifying glass (<–the way she pronounces that is so cute) and some impressionist art.
Grandpa, Cupcakes, and Daddy with a ball-on-track system
Cupcakes making a GIANT bubble around her!

An Old-Timey Settlement
A Blacksmith forging a nail hook <– that was the coolest part of the settlement! He reminded me of World of Warcraft. I miss that game… I was pretty unimpressed with the rest of it. Most of the buildings were closed. Lame.
I took this picture for my dad. He used to work in a modern-day print shop. But this also gives you an idea of what the buildings look like at the settlement. Cool, huh?
All Cupcakes wanted to do was find tiny ants:
At least she was free, right Hobbs’ parents??

Every grandparent that has a little girl for a granddaughter *has* to see Frozen! Obviously. So Grandpa and Hobbs picked up some pizza and we all had a movie night.
So those were some of our activities. Today, I think we’re going to a nature-y, hike-y place. I don’t want to go in the prairie. I saw a sick spider there once.
