Crossroads: How I Met My Husband

I met my husband, Hobbs, 6 years ago today.  I can’t believe it’s been that long!

I got to Seattle early for my walk across the country.  The first few days were set aside for getting to know everyone and training.  I arrived on a Wednesday and most of the 12 of us were there by Sat

urday.  Smooze, Beth and I spent Wednesday and Thursday in tents at a camp site.  It was an incredible couple of days.  I think I’m getting off track…

We headed over to the Host Family’s house Friday.  Saturday night we grilled out and had a lovely dinner.  Afterwards, Matt, Dave and Nick (the trainers) were telling us about the

“Roaders” who we were still waiting for.  Two of them were guys from Montana and they were friends.  They told us all about how  great Picard was.  He walked with the Northern Walk for a week the previous year so those guys got to know him a little bit.  They told us stories about him and last year’s walkers and such.

Naturally, I was all geared up to meet Picard.  They mentioned maybe once that he was coming with his friend Hobbs and I forgot all about him by the time the night was over.  I had been pretty shy during the first few days so I was determined this time to be friendly as I met the next Roader.

I ran into him the next morning in the kitchen.  I remember it so clearly.  He was standing on the other side of the counter when I walked in.  Immediately, I sucked in all my bravery and stuck my hand out saying, “You must be Picard.” with a big smile.  He came back,

“Actually, I’m HOBBS.”

Oops.  Not the best first impression, but it turned out okay.  😉

to start my own blog soon but I’m having a difficult time deciding between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your design and style seems different then most blogs and I’m looking
