How to Make this Sweet (& Healthy) Banana Treat for Toddlers

This was one of the snack ideas I found when writing my post, What and How to Feed a TodFun & Healthy Banana Treat | For Love of Cupcakes | @4loveofcupcakesdler.  I finally tried it out, gave it to Cupcakes, and she LOVED it!  I was skeptical about how it was going to work, as it’s a frozen treat, but it was fine.  Here’s how I did it.

How to Make a Banana Treat

What You’ll Need:

* A Banana
* Yogurt
* Healthy Cereal (I used Fruity Cheerios)
* Tin Foil
* A Zip Lock Bag
* A Freezer
* Meat Tenderizer

Method:

Spread a piece of tinfoil out on the table, poor some cereal onto it.  Use a Meat Tenderizer or other blunt object to crush the cereal.  (I put a paper towel over the cereal so I wouldn’t get crushed cereal on it.)

Break a banana in half.  Dip the first half in yogurt and coat it pretty well.  Then roll your banana half in the cereal.  Get as much cereal as you can on the banana.  Repeat with the second half.

Put each half in a zip lock bag and freeze.  If you want, write the date on the bag with a sharpie and don’t leave it in there for too long.

My Toddler Loved this Snack!

I gave Cupcakes the Banana Treat after dinner the other night (I let it freeze over night).  She held it and was a little hesitant at first because it was cold, but before long started munching on the cereal and nomming on the banana.  I think the cold helped with her teething because it felt good on her poor gums.

This was so easy to make and was very appealing, delicious and healthy for my toddler so I’m so glad I tried it.

If you try it, let me know how YOUR toddler liked it!! Leave a comment. 🙂
