7 Quick Cupcake Takes

Have a Cupcake!

Have you had a tough week?  Sit back, relax and enjoy a cupcake; they make everything better.  It’s on me.  😉  This was my first week back to work in about a year so I would LOVE a cupcake.  Here are 7 Quick Cupcake Takes.  Enjoy.  Can this count as the first one?

Little Girls Love Princesses

(Or is it princessi?) This is something I’ve learned as a primary / early childhood teacher.  I have been away for a yearish, but after my first week back to work, I can tell you it’s still the case.  I know some moms encourage their young daughters not to get into princesses, especially of the Disney variety.  What do YOU think?  Can you believe these are cupcakes?!

Groundhog’s Day

Do you love that Groundhog that bit a cupcake painting up there??  I do!  We did a lot of things with Groundhogs at the daycare center.  I love searching pinterest for preschool teaching and activity ideas.  It’s awesome.  As you may have expected, Phil saw his shadow and so of course, we will be having 6 more weeks of wnter.  This has been a VERY mild winter (especially compared to last year – when at this time, we were chest-deep in snow from that blizzard!) but still, I want spring to come!!!  I can’t wait to not be cold anymore!  This is a picture of Cupcakes and I the day after the blizzard!  She was only 2 months old.  The picture was taken exactly 1 year ago today.  🙂

Anyway, I am not happy with the Groundhog.

It was fun / funny to try to explain Groundhog’s Day to young three-year-olds.  It’s a confusing and weird legend.  I loved listening to their predictions though.  One little girl said she thought the goundhog was going to come out and play in the water.  🙂

Socializing with People IRL!

Tomorrow I am going to meet Rose from Random Creative for lunch!  I am really looking forward to it.  She used to live around me, but moved out of state.  We’ve only seen each other a few times, but I think we have a lot in common.  I am excited.

Lunch = Good Times

I love coming home and eating lunch with Hobbs and Cupcakes!  It is so great!!  My job is only 4 minutes from where we currently live so I’m able to zip on home and spend some time with my little family.  The hour really flies by but I am so grateful to be able to see them in that time.  It’s been pretty hard being away from Cupcakes for so long when I used to spend all day with them.

I miss my Husband!

Hobbs and I really have to take advantage of the time we do get together.  It’s only going to be Wednesday and Thursday nights / Saturday and Sunday mornings.  Does anyone have any good and inexpensive, but fun date ideas?  How often do you get to see your spouse?  If you work opposite shifts, what do you do to deal with it?

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE!

  1. You are so right about little girls and princesses. Even if moms try to discourage it, there’s something just innate about it for a lot of girls.

The groundhog with the cupcake is too funny. Perfect choice for this week.

Thank you for the shout out! I’m excited about lunch tomorrow, too. We do have a lot in common. I love getting to interact with people online everyday, but it’s great to see people in person as well.

One of my cousins and her husband have a similar work schedule to you and your husband. They have a lot of family in town so they take advantage of getting family to babysit so they can go out on dates regularly.

  2. I must be blind because I don’t see the groundhog in the cupcake. I have a pin with cheap/free dates.

  1. […] above pin is a true story.  When I saw RandomCreative for lunch yesterday, I mentioned pins that I found on pinterest at least 2-3 times.  […]
