Something for You {FREE}:
So I didn’t actually tell you about this post and was kind of thinking maybe I should.  (Actually, I probably should have told you about them 2 weeks ago…)
Now available on For Love of Cupcakes blog: FREE Seasonal Buttons!  :oD  I made you guys some buttons that you can have for free.  You don’t have to link back here or anything like that; you can just take them.  So far I’ve made Thanksgiving, Advent and Christmas ones, but I intend to make a lot more.
Let me explain the Advent ones.
Advent is the waiting time before Christmas and it lasts about a month.  It’s a time to prepare our hearts, minds and souls for the coming of our Lord, for the birth of Jesus Christ.  I’ve always loved this time of year!
Week 3
Interestingly (at least, I find it interesting), the first day of Advent marks the Liturgical New Year.  Did you know that?
Speaking of which, how have my Catholic friends been doing with those new responses at Mass?  I think it’s going to take a while, but they’re pretty cool in my opinion.  It seems like the priests have a LOT more new words / phrases to learn than we do.  Thank God for those little cards that help us follow along!!
My Advent Buttons are an advent wreathe with [a] candle[s] – an additional candle each week until Christmas Day when the final white one is added in the middle.  I remember learning in school (I only went to Catholic school through 6th Grade so some things are a little rusty) that the purple candles symbolize sorrow, while the pink candle symbolizes joy.  If anyone knows why this is the case, PLEASE leave me a comment!  :o)
Week 1 – Purple Candle – Hope
Week 2 – Purple Candle – Preparation
Week 3 – Pink Candle – Joy
Week 4 – Purple Candle – Love
Christmas Day – White Candle – Christmas
Anyway, I really hope you enjoy the buttons!  Check back for more every so often!  I won’t write a blog post every time I make new button so you’ll have to keep a look out.  :o)

By the way, today is the Feast of Our Lady of Guadelupe!

  3. Thanks for another great link up! Thanks for the freebie buttons, too. Very cute.

I am pretty happy with the new translation for mass, too. I agree that the priests have a lot more to learn than we do. It seems like our priest has been getting a number of complaints, which really isn't fair.

Your new header is beautiful Jamie! Cupcakes is adorable. I like your button too. I am going to update it right now!
